Stone Wall

The base for this stone wall material was sculpted in ZBrush, including both the stones and the muddy grout. This was my first time sculpting rocks, and my first time sculpting materials in ZBrush. It was interesting to see how that approach compares with the procedural stuff, and it was nice to have such a granular level of control over the shapes. The sculpt was then baked and taken into Substance Designer where I added further macro height details, and created the rest of the texture maps including the base colour and roughness.

Exported as a 2048px texture set, with five texture maps.

Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

Shout out to Dannie Carlone for the inspiration and for providing a great resource to help me along the way.

Some small stones picked out from the sculpt and baked down into a separate atlas, to be used as the scatter stones
